Make-up And Review 2012

The following make-up and review courses will meet Monday through Friday and are six week courses. Instruction is individualized depending upon the needs of the students.

These courses are designed to meet the needs of students who have already been through the course content for a full academic year and failed the course. Full credit will be extended upon satisfactory completion of the course requirements.

Note: No classes will be held on Monday, July 4.

English 9 Review

Description:

This course covers topics in Freshman English 110, 120, 211 and 225. Students work at skills needed for success in high school English and Social Studies courses, read materials geared toward entry level high school courses, and make use of the writing lab to improve their writing, weekly vocabulary exercises and grammar review. Freshman literature might include such titles as War of the World, Dracula, Romeo and Juliet.

This course covers topics in Sophomore English 111, 121, 212 and 222. Key elements from the sophomore curriculum are combined to form a general review course. Sophomore titles might include Macbeth, Black Boy, and House on Mango Street, also a variety of short stories which will present a range of culturally diverse points of view.
