Attendance Requirements

Strict attendance requirements must be met in order to receive a final grade or credit.

Six week courses:
Students with more than three absences may be asked to withdraw and will not be allowed to take the final examination.
Three week courses:
Students with more than two absences may be asked to withdraw and will not be allowed to take the final examination.
Two tardies will be equivalent to one absence. In NO case will tuition be refunded because of inability to meet attendance requirements.

Registration For Academic/Sports Programs

Open enrollment through the first day of classes. However, early enrollment is advised as spaces are filled on a first come, first served basis.

A surcharge of $25.00 per camp will be added to tuition for registrations received on or after opening day of each camp.

Registration is automatically granted upon receipt of application and payment online, by mail or in person. No confirmation will be issued unless registering online. If a course is unavailable, you will be notified.

Full payment is due with registration. Cash, check, Visa and MasterCard are accepted. Make checks payable to Newton Summer School.

Refunds

In the event of a withdrawal, tuition will be refunded if done prior to the opening of the class/sports program.

A registration fee of $100.00 will be charged for the withdrawal from an academic program or sports program.

Tuition will not be refunded because of inability to meet attendance requirements.

Credit Provisions

All students will have their grade and course credit sent to their home school.

Transcripts

Non-Newton Public Schools students MUST fill out the transcript.

Assigned Classrooms

Class assignments are listed in the course description next to instructor's name. Staff will be available to direct students to their classrooms.

Mid-Term Reports

Students who receive a grade of "F" at the mid-term can be dropped from the course at the discretion of the teacher and the Summer School Director. No refunds will be given when students are dropped at the mid-term.
